The mind is a terrible thing to waste!

Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired.

Alaska here we come

Today was an expensive day. We booked our flight to Alaska, leaving June 18 and coming back on June 25. We also reserved our rental car, last but not least, we registered for the marathon. The plan is to try to spend less than $1000 on the trip and it looks like we will be able to pull it off. Of course there will be some added expenses of meals along the way, but it should be a relatively inexpensive trip. 8 days in Alaska for under $1000. We will also be camping/hiking on the days after the marathon! (It's good to be me!)

passing of a legend

Bud arrived in this world like many other fish, living a horrible life as a Wal-Mart fish. Unknown of his future, he swam in his death filled tank awaiting his last breath (do fish breath) oh yeah, gills. Regardless, Bud was saved on one July afternoon in 2000 where I gave him a home.

His home was a bowl, nothing fancy, just a glass bowl. As time passed by, Bud was upgraded to an actual tank, not big, but it was tank nonetheless. He had other friends come and go. "Light and Keystone" just to name a few. Bud made countless trips from Van Wert to Tiffin during my college years. He saw a lot and I mean a lot during those 4 years of college. From the dorm in King West to Miller to 141 Main St. Bud saw it all. Bud made another trip to Tiffin when Kylee and I got married. He lived on our living room shelf for two years too. Bud even made the transition to school pet for half of a year, until I brought him home over Christmas. It was two years ago this week that he became Myles' bedroom pet. It is only fitting that he pass close to his two year anniversary with the little guy. This past weekend at 9:05 a.m. Bud was pronounced dead. He was given a burial at sea.

Bud is survived by his parents Brendon and Kylee Moody, Siblings Myles (two) and Brynleigh (7 months). All memorials are asked to be sent to the National Goldfish Foundation.
Thanks for 9 great years Bud. You'll be missed!

Hello from Sin City

Kyle and I arrived in Vegas Friday at 6:00 p.m. We met up with Nathan and caught a bite to eat at Planet Hollywood and the Hawaiian Tropic Zone. The wait staff was very friendly. While we were eating Scott Bollenbaugh caught up with us and we proceeded to continue on with our evening at one of Nathans favorite hangouts.

Nathan had to work at 5:00 a.m. Sat. morning so he took off at 11:30 and Kyle, Scott, and I stayed out on the strip until about 2:30 this morning. After a three hour power nap I was up and ready for some breakfast, so I headed to IHOP solo as Scott and Kyle were still sleeping. The time change killed me this morning. I have a feeling I'll be in bed very early tonight.

We are heading to pick up Ed at the airport around 6:00 tonight. Nathan is still clueless as to why we are heading back to the airport. Kyle told him we had to pick up a package that was FedEx'ed by one of his friends???

Las Vegas here we come

Kyle and I fly out from Dayton today at 2:40 to head to Las Vegas for the marathon. Ed will be joining us on Saturday afternoon, hopefully Nathan isn't reading this. He has no idea Ed will be coming out. Unfortunately my brother will not be able to make the trip like originally planned, but in the big picture of life he's in the right place.
I'm bumbed that Anson, my brother, won't be there because the airfare and spending money were to be our Christmas gift from our parents, so that is disappointing, along with the fact that he never hangs out with his friends from high school, Kyle and Bill Stevens (a buddy from high school who is going to meet us out there).
Hopefully this spring Anson and I can go do something for a long weekend and get to spend a little time together. It seems like I saw more of him when I lived in Tiffin then what I do now and we live less than 10 miles apart. Regardless, this weekend will be a lot of fun.
I found out a few days ago Scott Bollenbaugh (H.S. friend of mine) is actually going to be out in Vegas running the half-marathon (puss) so it will be good to spend some time with him too.
Hope everyone has a great weekend and if I were a betting man.. I'd take Troy giving the points!
Race-recap will come on Mon. or Tues.
*I interviewed for the VW H.S. Girls CC position and I felt that it went well. I have several girls who are looking forward to a new and challenging experience and they want to be successful. I hope that I will be able to provide that for them in the fall (given the opportunity).
