Whirl wind weekend

This past weekend was quite the blur. Friday night I traveled down to Otterbein to race a 5k. Things went well and I ran 15:14 and some change to wind up 2nd in what was one of the most competitive 5k's I've ran in since college. It was great to get out and run a fast 5k since I don't get to be involved in that many fast races around VW. The competition from CRC amongst others was pretty fierce. I was just pleased to run fast. I got back in to VW about 12:15 on Sat. morning and the kids were up early (surprise).
Since Kylee has started back running we've been trying to schedule our weekend runs and making sure someone is with the kids at all times. We only leave them unattended for short periods of time (kidding). She was out the door at 7:00 to get in her 12 miles, and I took off shortly after 9:00 to get my run in, only 11 miles mind you. First time in a very long time she recorded more miles then me on the day.
My family came over at 11:00 to celebrate my mothers 54th birthday. We then put the kids down for a nap (I caught up on a little sleep too). Kylee, the kids, and I went to Ft. Wayne on Sat. night to meet up with my brother-in-law and sister-in-law to got out to eat. We also went to Toys 'R' Us to get Myles his potty training toy, which is where the pics come in. When he completed his potty training chart he was to get a toy. We thought "match box car, Wiggles DVD, something small" He chose a kitchen set. Needless to say, his kitchen set will not only serve as a "potty reward," but also his Birthday present. Don't tell him that his parents are skipping out on his birthday, mind you it isn't until July.
The first picture is me being overwhelmed by all the pieces (some assembly required)! The second one is my triumph over all the pieces only 3 hours later. I started at 8:30 Sat. night and finished at 11:30 that evening. The third picture is Myles on Sun. morning when he awoke to find his "dishes" put together.

Sunday started with classes for church. I'm becoming Catholic. (insert any bad jokes here) No religion is perfect so BACK OFF! We then had Mass, followed by a luncheon, then we had to go to Findlay for Mass AGAIN, with the Bishop of the Toledo Diocese. Long day, no run and exhaustion.

Track conditioning begins on Monday so there is no sight of this ending.
